About Senken 7-piece VG-10 Tsunami Kitchen Knife Set
Senken Tsunami: a seven-piece VG-10 family, not a three-piece Xinzuo kit
This page is the Senken 7-piece VG-10 Tsunami Kitchen Knife Set — “SENKEN 7-Piece Damascus Kitchen Knife Set - Tsunami Collection - 67-Layer Japanese VG10 Steel - Chef's Knife, Cleaver, Santoku, Bread, Boning, & More.” Maker: Senken. Cores: VG-10. Cladding: 67-layer Damascus. That is a full board kit, priced accordingly in CAD, not the Xinzuo chef-santoku-utility trio.
The title names chef, cleaver, santoku, bread, and boning among the seven. You are buying shapes you may not use every week (bread, boning, cleaver) so the family matches. If you only wanted three knives, the Sanmeiho powder-steel trio or the Xinzuo three-piece are the tighter kits.
Tsunami is the collection name on the title. Senken is the maker. VG-10 cores under 67-layer cladding is the steel story — named, unlike Xinzuo KV-1’s Damascus-only field. Bread and boning in the same set is why this is a furnished kitchen, not a starter trio. Price in CAD matches that ambition.
Hand-wash all seven. File the bread knife; stone the rest. Adults 18+. Tracked from The Knife Vault Damascus shelf. Skip KV-97 if you wanted Hezhen’s six on a magnet (KV-212) or a single 8-inch VG-10 chef (KV-95).
VG-10 cores across seven shapes
Shared VG-10 means one stone progression for the set, except the serrated bread knife, which wants a tapered file, not the bench stone. Sixty-seven layers are cladding on each piece as titled. No HRC is printed on this card; we do not borrow 60 from Xinzuo KV-1.
- Maker: Senken. Collection name on the title: Tsunami.
- Piece count: 7. Core: VG-10. Cladding: 67-layer Damascus.
- Shapes called out: chef, cleaver, santoku, bread, boning, and the rest of the seven as photographed.
- SKU: KV-97. Finish: Damascus steel.
Who should furnish a kitchen this way
Buy Tsunami if you want Senken’s matching VG-10 Damascus family in one shipment and you will actually use a cleaver, a bread knife, and a boning knife. Skip it if you wanted Hezhen’s 6-piece 10Cr15CoMoV set on a magnetic block, or a single 8-inch chef’s knife. Hand-wash every piece. Adults 18+. Kitchen knife guide for set-building logic; this URL is KV-97.
