About 8" Kiritsuke
Eight-inch kiritsuke in 37-layer tricolor copper Damascus
This is the 8" Kiritsuke — “Kiritsuke Chef Knife,8 Inch, 37 Layers Tricolor Copper Damascus Steel-Japanese Damascus Knife for Chefs&Home Cooking-Razor Shar.” The differentiators are the kiritsuke k-tip, the 8-inch length, and 37-layer tricolor copper cladding. It is not Xinzuo’s 5.8-inch bunka (67 layers, figured sycamore, gift box) and not a VG-10 Atumuryou gyuto.
A kiritsuke pairs a chef’s belly with a clipped tip. You get rocking length and a precision point on one blade. That tip is as fragile as a bunka’s. Board only. No maker name is printed on this card; we do not invent Xinzuo or Atumuryou to fill the cell. Steel is listed as Damascus. No HRC on the card.
Eight inches plus copper in the etch is the look: warmer than Xinzuo’s 67-layer steel-only pattern, longer than the 5.8-inch bunka. Thirty-seven layers is not “worse than 67”; it is a different stack with copper in it. Care is stricter around acid and the dishwasher.
Featured on the Damascus shelf because the geometry is a conversation piece and an actual board knife. Priced in CAD. Adults 18+. Tracked from The Knife Vault. Protect the k-tip or buy a round-tip 8-inch chef instead.
Thirty-seven layers and copper in the stack
Thirty-seven layers is a different count from the 67-layer Xinzuo kitchen pieces. “Tricolor copper Damascus” means copper is in the cladding stack so the etch shows warm lines as well as steel. Copper in cladding is a look and a care note: acidic food and a dishwasher will stain it faster than plain stainless Damascus. Hand-wash and dry.
The core mill name is not printed. Do not assume VG-10 because KV-95 sits nearby. Judge geometry, the 8-inch length, and the copper-tricolor face in the photos.
- Form: kiritsuke, 8 in.
- Cladding: 37-layer tricolor copper Damascus as titled.
- SKU: KV-26. Featured on the Damascus shelf.
- No maker, no HRC, no named core on this card.
When to choose a kiritsuke instead of a bunka or gyuto
Choose this if you want eight inches of kiritsuke with copper in the etch, and you will protect the tip. Choose a bunka if you wanted a shorter k-tip. Choose a round-tip chef’s knife if you abuse tips. Priced in CAD, adults 18+, tracked from The Knife Vault.
