Grinder Sharpening Jig · Belt is a grinder sharpening jig. Finish on the shelf is listed as Grinder sharpening jig. A jig that holds a blade to a belt at a set angle. About Grinder Sharpening Jig · Belt
The 300×90×130 mm aluminium rest, not the woodworking-titled jig
This page is Grinder Sharpening Jig · Belt — “Belt Grinder Knife Sharpener Jig 300x90x130mm Aluminum.” The millimetre envelope and the aluminium body are the offer. It is not KV-131, whose title is “for Woodworking” and does not print 300×90×130 mm.
Aluminium is the fixture material named here: a rigid rest, not a motor casting. 300×90×130 mm is the size printed on the title. Match that box to the space in front of your platen before you assume it will bolt onto a mini 1×30 hobby sander.
Finish as stocked: Grinder sharpening jig. No listed wattage or voltage — this SKU is still a jig, even though it costs more than the woodworking-titled sibling. SKU KV-132. Priced in CAD on the knife-making shelf.
Aluminium at 300×90×130 mm is a bigger, stiffer rest than a nameless woodworking jig. You pay more because the title commits to a size and a metal. Measure the gap in front of your platen. A mini belt sander with a 100 mm tool rest will not swallow 300 mm of fixture.
Use it for knife bevels and for shop tools once the belt tracks. Wipe the aluminium so grit does not embed. It is still not a motor. KV-131 remains the woodworking-titled, cheaper, no-envelope sibling. Adults 18+. CAD. Tracked from The Knife Vault. Read the knifemaking guide for grinders; this URL is the millimetre box.
Why the millimetre box matters
A rest that is 300 mm in one axis will not hide on a tiny bench sander. The title exists so you can tape-measure the gap between your tool rest mounts and this envelope. If you only knew you wanted “a jig for woodworking” without a size, KV-131 is the other card.
- Listed size: 300×90×130 mm.
- Body: aluminium as titled.
- Job: hold a knife or tool to a belt at a set angle.
- Not included: the belt grinder, belts, or a Ken Onion kitchen belt sharpener.
- SKU KV-132, distinct from KV-131 (woodworking title, no mm envelope).
Using the aluminium jig on a tracked belt
Park it so the work meets the belt in the middle of the platen, not on the slack side. Aluminium will not forgive a belt that walks; it will just groove. Track first. Then set the angle and take light passes on knife bevels or shop tools.
Because this rest is the larger printed envelope, it suits makers who already know their machine’s footprint. It is still not a substitute for a 2×72. If you need the machine, shop the belt-grinder cards; if you need fasteners, shop rivets.
Shop care for KV-132
Wipe abrasive dust off the aluminium so grit does not embed and scratch the next blade. Do not treat this as waterproof outdoor furniture. Adults 18+. Tracked shipping from The Knife Vault.
