About Leather Honing Strop
A 315 mm double-sided leather strop on an aluminium base
This listing is the Leather Honing Strop — “315mm Double-sided Polishing Leather Honing Strop New Knife Sharpener with Aluminum Base Wooden Handle Blade Polishing Tool.” Length named: 315 mm. Double-sided leather. Aluminium base and wooden handle as titled. SKU KV-128.
A strop finishes an edge after the stone. Compound on leather, pull away from the edge, light pressure. It will not restore a dull chef’s knife by itself. It is not a whetstone and not a belt.
The wooden handle on the strop is for holding the paddle, not for hanging a kitchen knife. The aluminium base keeps the leather from sliding off a wet stone bench. Load compound sparingly; a caked strop glazes and stops cutting the burr.
Use this after Mitsumoto 6000 or after the KnifePlanet 8000 face — not instead of them. If the edge will not raise a burr on a stone, a 315 mm strop will not save it. Priced in CAD, Tools shelf, adults 18+, tracked from The Knife Vault.
Why 315 mm and two sides matter
Three hundred and fifteen millimetres is long enough for a kitchen chef’s knife stroke without running off the end every pass. Two sides let you keep coarse compound on one face and fine on the other — if you load them that way. The listing does not name a compound brand; we do not invent one.
- Length: 315 mm. Construction: double-sided leather, aluminium base, wooden handle.
- SKU: KV-128. Finish: Leather honing strop.
- Job: polish after stones. Not a 240-grit repair stone.
Use
Stone first, strop second. Keep the aluminium base from rocking. Adults 18+. Priced in CAD. Knife care for the full progression.
